Homemade Burger Seasoning

I realize that Memorial Day is a few weeks away, but in my opinion, grilling season has already started! Regardless of whether you’re grilling outdoors on a grill or indoors on a griddle, the initial step to creating an exceptional burger is seasoning it correctly. This extremely easy homemade burger seasoning can be prepared in seconds, using commonly available spices, and truly enhances the flavor of a ground beef patty. Give it a try on your next burger and share your thoughts with me! (I believe you’ll want to have another serving.)

What’s in Burger Seasoning

You don’t need fancy ingredients for a flavorful burger seasoning. Our easy mix includes smoked and sweet paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, freshly cracked pepper, salt, and a small pinch of cayenne. These simple spices enhance the beef’s flavor without overpowering it, resulting in the ideal homemade hamburger.

How to Season Burgers

For the ultimate juicy and flavorful burger, it is recommended to lightly sprinkle a thin layer of this burger seasoning on the outer surface of your pre-formed burger patties. To prevent your burger from becoming dense and tough, it is important to avoid excessive handling of the meat when forming the patties. Hence, gently shape your burgers before delicately coating them with the burger seasoning.

How Much Burger Seasoning to Use

I recommend using approximately 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of burger seasoning on each side of a 1/4 pound burger patty, but feel free to adjust the amount according to your preference. The following recipe yields approximately 1 tablespoon of burger seasoning, which should be sufficient for around four burger patties.

To increase the quantity of burger seasoning, modify the number of servings mentioned in the servings box on the recipe card provided. This adjustment will automatically adapt the measurements of the remaining ingredients for your convenience.

Try this versatile basic seasoning blend on various dishes such as steak fries, pork or beef roasts, or grilled steaks! It’s fantastic on just about anything.
