Ground Turkey Stir Fry

I absolutely love super easy stir-fry dinners! They never fail to amaze me. It’s incredible how a few ingredients can incorporate a plethora of vegetables, and they’re incredibly quick to make! Opting for ground meat takes the convenience to another level as there’s no need to handle raw meat, which I’m not particularly fond of. The Ground Turkey Stir Fry is exceptionally versatile, which adds to its greatness. You can utilize any vegetables you have on hand, adjust the spice level to your preference, and pair it with rice, noodles, or even shredded cabbage for a low-carb alternative. Keep scrolling for more details on these options!

I got inspired by those pricey “macro-friendly” meal delivery services that send pre-made meals to your doorstep, and created this Ground Turkey Stir Fry that you can easily make at home for a fraction of the cost. 🙂 You have full control over the macros in this dish by adjusting the amounts of turkey, vegetables, rice, or nuts. Unfortunately, I don’t have the detailed macronutrient information for this meal, but you can find out why in my FAQs.

How to Store Ground Turkey Stir Fry

For meal prepping, this recipe is highly recommended. However, it is advised to store it solely in the refrigerator, as freezing may lead to increased softening of the vegetables and water seepage. This dish can remain fresh in the refrigerator for approximately four days.

How to Make Ground Turkey Stir Fry – Step by Step Photos

To start, prepare the stir-fry sauce in advance. Combine 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of toasted sesame oil, 1/2 tablespoon of brown sugar, a pinch of red pepper flakes, and 1 tablespoon of water. Mix until the brown sugar is completely dissolved. By the way, I have developed a fondness for Whole Foods’ 365 brand Shoyu soy sauce, which is not only reasonably priced but also boasts delightful flavor, beyond simply being salty.

Afterwards, start by getting the vegetables ready. Chop two bell peppers into small cubes, opting for red and yellow ones to add more vibrancy. Additionally, slice four green onions. As for the fresh spinach, approximately 2 oz. (equivalent to two large handfuls or roughly 1/4 of an 8 oz. bag) will be used, and no preparation is required for it.

To begin, pour 2 tablespoons of your preferred cooking oil into a spacious skillet and place it over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, incorporate 19 ounces of ground turkey and 2 cloves of garlic that have been minced. Continuously stir and cook until the turkey is fully cooked and all the moisture in the skillet has evaporated. It is important to avoid a soupy stir fry.

Dice the bell peppers and green onions, then add them to the skillet. Stir and cook until they start to soften, which should take approximately 2 minutes. Be careful not to overcook them, as they will continue to cook further once additional ingredients are incorporated. Next, introduce the spinach to the skillet and continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the spinach is partially wilted, resembling the photo.

In conclusion, add the stir-fry sauce to the skillet. If there are any undissolved brown sugar granules at the bottom of the bowl, scrape them into the skillet. Stir and cook the mixture for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until everything is evenly coated in sauce and heated thoroughly.

That’s all there is to it! It really is that simple.

Enjoy by serving approximately 1 cup of the ground turkey stir fry alongside 1/2 cup of cooked rice, garnished with chopped peanuts.
